Indian Test team’s wicket keeper-batsman Wriddhimaan Saha wants to play in the 2019 World Cup. Saha said that his wife wants him to play the ICC World Cup in 2019 and this is why he is working hard. A song has been written on Saha’s life. Saha, who came on CD launch of the same song, expressed this desire during the discussion with other reporters from the program. Saha said, “She (my wife) always keeps telling me about it. I am trying my best, but the decision is in the hands of selectors.” Saha has played 28 Tests for India, but he has not got much time in the ODI team as Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been in the team at the age of 36 and is performing well.
Saha has played 9 ODIs for India, with an average of 13.66 runs. He has got opportunity to bat in five innings, in which his highest score is 16 runs. Saha played his last ODI against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad in 2014. He made a century in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Kings XI Punjab in 2014 and impressed everyone with his bat throughout the tournament.
Saha said, “Every player wants to play in all formats, but it depends on the selectors. I do the preparation because I can improve myself, the rest is dependent on the selection committee. I do not work hard to play ODI only. ” When Saha was asked if 2018 would be tough for the Indian team captain Virat Kohli, because he has to tour England and South Africa during this period? Responding to this question, Saha said, “Yes, it will be difficult, but the challenge will be to keep a similar rhythm from home and outside. We are also winning overseas.”
